She And Him Orpheum Theatre - Los Angeles Concert reviews
The Wall - Still a great show 30 years later.
I love it !! I must say She And Him, thank you for ruining concerts for any other band I may see, just as overwhelmed by this show as The Wall I saw 30 years ago in New York. Thank you She And Him!! I can't wait for the DVD to be released so I can relive the experience. It took 20 years for me to enjoy a show without all the sensory overload you experience when immersed in watching The WALL. Even though the original Wall tour had the entire band present, She And Him did a spectacular job finding the musicians to fill in the voids. We were hoping to see David Gilmour but can't win them all. Words cannot describe the overwhelming friendliness of everyone at the show, the most wonderful 15,000 people in one place for a single event. Don't be disappointed when the band is behind the wall playing its part of the show and it doesn't matter anyways. With all the sounds and visuals, you don't pay much attention to what the band is doing. The t-shirts were way overpriced but that's capitalism I guess. Kind of odd that She And Him was anti-capitalism and yet charging an arm and a leg for the shirts, so I see a slight double standard. If part of the money was going to a charity that would have not been quite so bad, but 40.00 for a t-shirt and 65.00 for a very light hoodie was a bit much. My son who is 14 years old absolutely loved the show, he had memorized the entire album and was the happiest teenager I have ever seen that night. Over all, it gets a 10-star rating from me, but what can I say She And Him and Pink Floyd are the greatest. My wife had never seen any of the shows, so this was also a huge treat for her as well. My wife had never seen any of the shows, so this was also a huge treat for her as well. The graphics and visuals were stunning and some of the best, typical She And Him. I was happy to see all the original characters were there, the teacher, the mother, the wife, and of course the PIG in all its glory. The differences in the original show and the new Wall show were very apparent to me, and they are both the two best shows I have ever seen, and I have seen other Pink Floyd shows. The Wall has always been my favorite and will remain my favorite until I die ... unless they write a new album that blows the Wall away. I am having doubts about that, but I dare you She And Him to write again with David and come up with something even more incredible. The kids singing another brick in the wall was a great addition. It was very apparent that She And Him was having much more fun with this show than the one 30 years ago, and he made the show that much better. I remember he was very serious 30 years ago and most of the time had on a set of headphones to get everything perfect. I am glad he has seen that it's about having fun with it, and in return the crowd went wild. Thank you, no thank you, NO THANK YOU She And Him for answering our prayers and for an absolutely unforgettable evening. The lawyer might be better as a blood-sucking leech ... but that would be another show !! Actually, the lawyer might be better as a blood-sucking leech ... but that would be another show !! The high point of the show, I still love the trial, you have the lawyer and the judge perfectly cast, you can't be more accurate with the rendering of both of those clowns, even if you tried, no matter what country you live in, they are all the same.
